Communications Coordinator

Delta’s Employee Communications team is growing as we build a world class internal communications organization that keeps Delta people at the forefront of all we do. We’re looking for a strategic, collaborative communicator with strong storytelling skills to join the Employee Communications - Enterprise Content and Strategy team. This person should enjoy shaping messages and communications to inform and inspire employee audiences.


The candidate will join efforts to lead a dynamic storytelling campaign via digital articles and videos, drive data analytics for internal channels and implement innovative approaches to communicating across the organization. This person will also work with the content team to upload and format employee stories and images on various platforms. When internal stories present opportunities to appear on external channels or pitched to media, this person should be comfortable and experienced with tailoring the writing style to the audience.


This position reports to the Senior Manager, Enterprise - Employee Communications and supports overall communication strategy, employee storytelling campaigns, partner relationships and corporate announcements.


Responsibilities:

  • Execute and help develop communications strategies that strengthen Delta’s employer brand across internal and external audiences
  • Lead storytelling and interviewing across divisions for enterprise and build out robust employee storytelling campaign
  • Work with internal and external teams to leverage content beyond typical employee platforms
  • Support the new employee Instagram account with current Sr. Coordinator
  • Support Town Hall events in developing promotional materials and partnering with internal social media team to encourage employee engagement
  • Partner with stakeholders to lead internal weekly enterprise newsletter 
  • Stay current on leading trends to deliver practical and insightful communication recommendations and thought leadership.
  • Support data analytics work to track and understand what content is resonating, best practices for posting and sharing content, and dare to innovate to connect with and reach all employees


WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS)

  • 1-3 years of communications, public relations, media and/or news experience preferred.
  • Strong writing and editing skills a must.
  • Must demonstrate experience in developing, collaborating with multiple stakeholders and implementing project plans.
  • Demonstrated social media expertise and experience.
  • Experience reviewing and leveraging data to inform and strengthen performance of communications.
  • Superior knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook is essential.
  • A working knowledge of Sharepoint, Photoshop is preferred.
  • Where permitted by applicable law, must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine by date of hire to be considered for U.S.-based job, if not currently employed by Delta Air Lines, Inc.


WHAT WILL GIVE YOU A COMPETITIVE EDGE (PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS)

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, preferably in communications, public relations or journalism
  • In addition, the successful candidate will possess a high degree of initiative and superior organizational skills, and the ability juggle multiple tasks, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • This employee must be an internal and external communications professional responsible for developing and maintaining constructive relationships with senior level divisional stakeholders, frontline employees and leaders, key media organizations and external influencers.
