Communication Specialist

Remote (United States)

You will create, implement and measure initiatives that support the goals of the U.S. Corporate Communications function with a specific understanding of the intersection of policy/government advocacy and effective communications activities. Works in a high-performing team to contribute to the development of thoughtful external communication materials and strategies that support Siemens’ continued growth as a leading technology company and key contributor to the backbone of the U.S. economy, while emphasizing targeted business objectives. Ability to work remote from the ET or CT time zones.


Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with internal partners to establish and execute communication strategies in support of the company’s U.S. regional and national priorities.
  • Utilizes working knowledge of relevant national policy and government affairs issues related to Siemens’ business to proactively identify emerging issues and support communication strategies related to those topics.
  • Effectively develops, writes, and edits materials designed to reach regional and national audiences to grow the company’s visibility across key markets.
  • Responsible to create executive briefings, develop fact sheets, and contribute to messaging development in addition to managing additional external collateral and platforms including content for the Siemens in the U.S. website.
  • Demonstrates skill in communicating complex, technical or policy issues to diverse, non-technical audiences.
  • Utilizes process to measure and report on communication activities and results achieved for communication efforts and supporting programs on a regular basis.
  • Opportunity to engage with global and country counterparts to collaborate on relevant topics and activities.


Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of relevant experience supporting communication activities for external audiences
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, English, Political Science or related field required.
  • Additional language skills helpful but not required.
  • Advanced capability in preparing communications materials.
  • Working knowledge of corporate communications and basic understanding of government affairs.
  • Basic understanding of Siemens core businesses a plus.
  • Ability to travel less than 10% for meetings
