Commercial Legal Counsel
We are looking for a talented and passionate Commercial Legal Counsel, to join our growing legal team. We offer a fun and start-up vibe, in a rapidly growing company, and interesting and diverse legal challenges.
As an in-house commercial legal counsel you will work closely with our product and sales teams, providing ongoing legal advice on a wide range of commercial and product issues. You will also negotiate agreements with third parties, draft contracts and other legal documents and participate in decision-making processes.
What You’ll Do:
- Develop (including from scratch), manage and negotiate a variety of terms and agreements related to strategic partnerships and product initiatives, including terms for new products and features, agreements for partners in the advertising space, and internal and external policies and guidelines.
- Provide legal advice across many subject areas including data protection laws and regulations, copyright law, consumer protection laws, and other global legal frameworks applicable to the company’s products and services.
- Work closely and effectively to provide legal and regulatory advice to cross-functional teams, including product, marketing, finance, sales, business development, and operations.
- Provide strategic business and legal advice to develop a comprehensive, long-term approach to the company’s relationships with key partners and vendors.
What You Have:
- Strong business orientation
- Strong interpersonal skills
- At least 3 years experience in commercial law from global high-tech companies or in a high-tech department of a quality law firm
- Juris Doctor/LL. B. plus admission to at least one bar
- Analytical thinking and strong attention to detail
- Strong work ethics
- High sense of responsibility and ownership and the ability to multitask
- Ability to work independently on many different projects at once in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in drafting and reviewing commercial agreements
Bonus points if you have..
- Knowledge and understanding of intellectual property issues
- Knowledge of US and EU regulations applicable to corporate compliance and/or privacy
- Experience in a global company/organization
- IAPP certification
