Climate and Sustainable Operations Specialist

Washington, District of Columbia, United States

Provide support to team leads for federal client programs on environment and energy. Apply detailed knowledge of technical, market, aviation, and policy landscapes for sustainability, energy efficiency, facilities management, renewable energy, and climate adaptation to assist clients with strategic solutions to meet statutory, regulatory, and executive order goals and requirements. Perform policy analysis of federal and agency specific sustainability policies to assist federal clients with understanding policy impacts and needs to modify their approach to energy management, climate adaptation and mitigation, and sustainable operations. Assist in establishing internal goals, plans, metrics, and milestones related to climate and sustainability, and track progress through established federal systems, reports, and scorecards. Provide technical support to the client in discussions with internal and external stakeholders, including utilities and other private entities interested in energy and climate focused initiatives and projects including energy savings performance contracts and utility energy savings contracts. Deliver holistic strategies and solutions in complex or ambiguous client challenges. This position is open to remote delivery anywhere within the U.S., to include the District of Columbia.


Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience with client delivery related to greenhouse gas reporting, sustainable operations, or facility energy management
  • Knowledge of sustainability principles, energy efficiency technologies, or public policies established by EPAct, EISA, Energy Act, and EO requirements
  • Knowledge of climate mitigation and adaptation policies, technologies, and resources
  • Ability to work independently with minimal instructions and communicate directions to team members
  • Ability to manage complex data and analysis and present findings in a clear, comprehensive manner to clients and a variety of technical and senior audiences
  • Ability to interpret and analyze policies and technical directives
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
  • Bachelor's degree


Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience as a resource efficiency manager or energy support contract with federal agencies
  • Knowledge of one or more energy technologies, including energy efficiency measures, renewable energy, or traditional energy generation
  • Knowledge of the aviation industry including planning, operations, and regulation of the national airspace system to improve transportation safety, efficiency, and the environment
  • Master's degree
  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM) Certification or similar

Applicants selected will be subject to a government investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements of the U.S. government client.


Compensation:

The proposed salary range for this position in Colorado is 77,000 to 100,000. Final salary will be determined based on various factors.
