ABOUT THIS ROLE:

We are seeking a senior executive to be CFO of a newly formed enterprise SaaS company in the life insurance space, to help stand up a new finance function.


As we prepare for this new direction and next phase of growth, we need a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) who can build and lead a finance organization at this critical time.


This is a newly created role where the CFO will oversee and build a high-performing team with compassion and commitment. They will be a core member of Haven Life's senior executive team and will report directly to the CEO, Yaron Ben-Zvi. The role will be based in New York City.


WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Partner with leadership on financing strategy, board communications, company culture and corporate development
  • Direct the company's Finance strategic planning initiatives and help to build out strong practices around Financial Planning & Analysis.
  • Partner with executive leadership and others in management on ensuring the engagement of the entire company around financial topics
  • Demonstrate strong financial stewardship
  • Collaborate closely with CRO to develop and evolve client pricing structures and monitor their effectiveness with a lens toward profitability
  • Direct resource allocation, monitor company expenditures and help review and negotiate client and vendor agreements.
  • Oversee internal and external financial reporting
  • Work with external parties on tax and compliance matters
  • Create accounting/finance policies as needed.
  • Help drive effective board meetings as well as manage communications with the BOD
  • Implement processes, frameworks and systems that allow us to capture and utilize timely and accurate data across the business to make better decisions
  • Provide support on various operational tasks including P&L and financial projections, pricing and valuation models and company presentations


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Financial Experience: VP of Finance for a company with at least $100mm in annual revenue or similar experience as a ‘number two’ to a CFO in a larger organization. Overall 10+ years of finance experience in a leadership position. Demonstrated ability to establish and run core financial processes, forecastings and reporting requirements while leveraging your insights to enhance strategy, profitability, and client relationships.
  • Entrepreneurial Bent: You have built something from the ground up and know what it’s like to work in a fast-paced and agile environment, tolerating ambiguities and resolving them as appropriate. You likely have some experience at a smaller company with this, or within a larger company driving a new initiative.
  • Strategic Thinking and Communication: Understanding of planning and executing short and longer term financial strategies with a metrics and goal-driven approach. Ability to manage communications with the board of directors as well as key clients at the highest level.
  • Technology Experience: Experience with a technology company, ideally at a B2B SaaS
  • organization in a finance role. Insight into how to structure financial relationships with SaaS client relationships so as to maximize value for all parties.
  • Team Building: Strong management skills and demonstrated ability to hire, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team.
