About the Role:

Thistle is looking for a CFO to join our team and manage our finance operations. The CFO will be responsible for driving the metrics, processes, and forecasting to support our growth and decision making, ultimately impacting the strategic direction of the company and ensuring its financial success. This role will lead the finance and accounting functions, ensuring that the quality and accuracy of financial reporting are maintained to our company and investor standards and in accordance with applicable accounting standards. You will manage (and continue to build) a team to execute the FP&A and business operations required for success. You will be working cross-functionally to solve problems, review budgets, and forecast how prospective changes to the products and services we offer to impact the business’ performance.

What You'll Do

Create financial and decision-making models to develop meaningful insights and actionable recommendations to help drive business decisions -- and then help execute on them!
Own the company financial strategy, including forecasting, budgeting, and long-range planning functions in addition to all Finance-related KPIs
Manage the Finance team and oversee all accounting duties, including closing the books monthly (AP, AR, expenses), issuing financial statements, and running payroll
Deliver clear management and Board reporting that highlights drivers of forecast variances, deeper business insight, and future risks and opportunities.
Effectively interface with all levels of the organization to share financial data, updates, and goals on a regular basis
Manage necessary external relationships, including audit, tax, banks, investors
Support the CEO and Board to position Thistle for successful fundraising and/or IPO in the future

What You'll Bring

BA in Finance, Accounting or related degree (MBA a plus)
12+ years of progressive experience including with a mid-stage startup FP&A context
Exceptional budgeting, financial modeling, and scenario analysis skills, with an expert understanding of Excel & SQL and demonstrated experience managing large data sets
Strong understanding of consumer/digital / ecom business models
Experience in a high-volume, high-growth manufacturing/production environment (preferred)
Ability to prioritize, self-start, and self-direct work in an environment with minimal direction
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly present financial information to all levels of management
A team player and seasoned people manager who genuinely enjoys approaching their work with an entrepreneurial and collaborative spirit while having fun at the same time
