Chief Communications Officer

The Chief of Staff to HPE’s Chief Communications Officer will serve as Director, Strategy and Planning for the Global Communications leadership team and function. The role encompasses a blend of tactical and strategic activities and is critical to ensure the smooth operations of the organization and the Leadership team. Individuals who can succeed in the role are self-starters who can operate, and problem solve independently, anticipate executive needs, have a good executive interface and strong communication skills. This leader can span both strategic and execution- oriented thinking, can quickly and effectively translate directions into visual and verbal messaging through tools like PowerPoint, and have exceptional communications and executive packaging skills.


Responsibilities:

  • Provide project management around key strategic priorities for Global Communications
  • Responsible for driving excellence and performance management efforts
  • Drive actions and accountability for projects initiated by the Chief Communications Officer
  • Lead design of dashboards, KPIs, MBOs, and metrics for entire organization
  • Collaborate with leadership team for CEO/Executive Committee, Board of Directors, and business leadership meetings
  • Work closely with the department’s key third party agencies in developing and executing a holistic plan for Global Communications
  • Influence virtual teams to solve execution problems, build collaboration across the lines
  • Oversee and implement the strategic planning process
  • Influence operational and financial planning for organization including people and program budgets and provide recommendations
  • Manage the annual, quarterly, and monthly budget processes to ensure team is managing the budget efficiently and it maps to the overall strategic plan (this includes the full spectrum of financial management for the team, including planning, budgeting, invoicing, cross charges, reconciliation, accruals, expense report approvals, and more).
  • Partner closely with HR and Finance to track and manage budgets
  • Work closely with the leadership team to develop and evaluate content for corporate presentations and Business Reviews
  • Identify opportunities for process and business improvement
  • Develop and maintain the Calendar for the fiscal year, including periodic business reviews, F2F meetings, outreach including the executive travel agenda
  • Capture and follow-up on action items generated in staff calls manage overall operations for the Chief Communications Officer and team, including managing our collaboration site, records management, business continuity, consultant due diligence, and more

Education and Experience Required:

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent diploma, preferably with a business or scientific major. An advanced degree is a plus.
  • 8+ years in a role requiring integrated program and process management or managing large, complex organizations and multiple stakeholder inputs
