Change Management & Communications Senior Specialist

Remote (United States)

We are looking for a change management professional with a strong background in internal employee communications – someone who can partner effectively with HR and project teams to assist with developing change strategies, creating communication materials, and coordinating with those responsible for appropriate training strategies. The ideal candidate thrives in a complex, ever-changing global environment and is skilled at aligning teams around common messages and approaches.


As part of the group’s Communications team, you will engage with business and HR partners representing different parts of our organization to guide them through a change management process and develop appropriate strategies to successfully implement change initiatives, keeping employee engagement top of mind. You will work with your team members and others to ensure the alignment of strategic messaging and communication plans.


You will coordinate the work of others across project workstreams, leading change impact analyses, hosting change workshops, tracking against milestones, developing overarching messaging and communication deliverables, and coaching and educating functional team members to ensure effective change and communication strategies.


We move fast, and you will, too. You will ensure the right amount of process is brought to bear based on the scope of the change and will be flexible in your approach to meet the business's needs. Your attention to detail is top-notch, and your writing skills are excellent.


You’ll report directly to the Senior Manager of Change Management and Communications for AIG.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Partners on internal communication change management efforts for assigned programs, projects or initiatives. Initial scope will be focused on Finance Transformation initiatives.
  • Liaises with other communication team members within the group and at the corporate level to ensure appropriate involvement and alignment.
  • Conducts impact analyses, assesses change readiness and identifies key stakeholders.
  • Crafts strategic messaging for projects and ensures alignment with appropriate function, division, group or corporate strategy messaging. Works with applicable communication team partners for alignment on strategic messaging, where required.
  • Evaluates and ensures readiness. Tracks and reports issues. Defines and measures success metrics and monitors change progress.
  • Follows communications approval processes, as defined.


REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 3-5 years of progressive experience in change management and strategic communication, including creating and implementing change management strategies.
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications or a related field is required. Change management certification (Prosci or CCMP) a plus.
  • Experience with and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies and tools.
  • Ability to communicate complex information in simple, easy-to-understand ways to a variety of audiences.
  • Ability to recommend appropriate change and communications actions and provide broad support for a large, complex project.
  • Ability to identify, escalate and turn around issues promptly.
  • Ability to take ownership and independently drive progress in a highly matrixed organization.
  • Ability to engage/partner with multiple stakeholders from all organization levels while driving time-sensitive solutions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships using influence to move toward a common goal.
  • Ability to produce high-quality deliverables and meet deadlines.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communications, collaboration, interpersonal and facilitation skills.
  • Excellent active listening skills.
  • Strong MS PowerPoint, Excel and Word skills.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Organized with strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to travel internationally and domestically, as needed.
