Category Partnership Manager, Supplier Diversity & Inclusion

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in full lifecycle procurement, supplier management, vendor management, and sourcing.
  • Category experience in one of the following categories (Multi-Category Expertise): Construction, Facilities, Logistics, Marketing, Enterprise Technology, Professional Services.
  • Experience with diversity and inclusion.


Preferred qualifications:

  • Strong leadership qualities including effective cross-functional communication interpersonal, team building and project/program management skills.
  • Persuasive written and verbal communication skills coupled with strong multi-tasking and organizational capabilities, with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Results-oriented and committed to continuous improvement, a bias to action and able to effectively translate strategies into actionable plans successfully manage complexity and multiple priorities at fast pace
  • Team player with a positive attitude who can work effectively with a range of stakeholders and ecosystem partners.

Within the Google Procurement Organization (GPO) the Supplier Diversity team exists to advance Supplier Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in how Google buys and does business globally.


As part of the Google Procurement Organization, the Supplier Diversity & Inclusion team works to connect Diverse (minority-, women-, LGBTQ-, disabled- and veteran- owned) businesses to opportunities that will help them grow. As Supplier Diversity Category Partnership Manager you will partner closely with teams in the Google Procurement Organization and cross-functional stakeholders to build and execute strategies that create and grow concrete procurement opportunities for Diverse businesses, in line with our values and goals.


The name Google came from "googol," a mathematical term for the number 1 followed by 100 zeros. And nobody at Google loves big numbers like the Finance team when providing in depth analysis on all manner of strategic decisions across Google products. From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.


Responsibilities

  • Develop strong multi-category knowledge and expertise in Supplier Diversity and Diverse Supplier ecosystem. Understand benchmarking data, best practices, industry trends, supply risk and emerging technologies. Utilize category knowledge and subject matter expertise to build credibility with stakeholders.
  • Build Supplier Diversity category strategies and inputs that address the stakeholder requirements, and enable Google to scale efficiently and drive value to optimize the supplier portfolio in partnership with other teams. Develop inputs and strategies for guided buying and, where relevant, Preferred Supplier programs.
  • Drive performance, value and innovation from key diverse suppliers through robust Diverse Supplier Relationship Management. Monitor and mitigate Diverse supplier risk.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally, cross-regions and categories to ensure a consistent and holistic approach to Supplier Diversity and procurement.
