Cannabis Lab Technician

Sanctuary Medicinals is seeking a highly competent, driven, and diligent candidate for a Laboratory Technician role in our extraction lab. The Laboratory Technician will work under the Laboratory Manager and, under their direction, be responsible for the production of Sanctuary's extract products, from extraction to post processing.

Responsibilities include: 

• Running extractions using a variety of solvents according to established SOPs
• Maintaining laboratory equipment as needed and able
• Cleaning up the laboratory at the end of each day and ensuring the space is ready to run in the morning
• Winterizing and filtering raw extract
• Running short path distillations on extract
• Generating dabbable extracts by following established SOPs
• Preparing samples for analytical testing
• Keeping and maintaining records of material used and generated both digitally and on paper

This position is Monday to Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm. The Laboratory Technician will report to the Laboratory Manager and Laboratory Director

Requirements:

• THIS IS A PHYSICAL JOB - ability to lift and carry objects up to 50lbs, perform repetitive wrist and arm motions, and transition between squatting and standing positions consistently throughout the workday is required
• Strong communication skills and ability to follow detailed directions
• Associates degree or higher in chemistry, engineering, biology, or similar field a plus
• Previous production laboratory experience a plus
• Working knowledge of basic solvent handling, pressurized gas behavior and thermodynamic flow is required
• Strong desire to work in the cannabis industry
• Competence in algebra and basic mathematics
• Strong attention to detail and ability to keep clean documentation
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot and perform basic repairs on equipment a huge plus
• Ability to work both quickly and carefully
• Ability to run procedures using both metric and imperial measurement units
• Must be 21 years or older.
• Must Pass Florida background checks
• Ability to work on your feet the majority of the day in a fast-paced environment
