Call Center Specialist

The successful Call Center Specialist - Specialty Team candidate will have strong knowledge of company products, systems, policies and procedures. Internal incumbents will have progressed to this level from the call center specialist level after having achieved educational/training and tenure requirements. Incumbents for the role will demonstrate excellent oral/written communication skills. As well:


The successful candidate for this role will demonstrate the following:

Strong interpersonal skills

  • Ability to learn multiple MassMutual products to provide timely and accurate information
  • •Providing results-oriented service levels, resolving customer requests on the first contact
  • •Excellent communication skills that demonstrates the ability to anticipate the needs of the callers, build rapport with each customer, ask probing questions and understand how to create a best-in-class client experience
  • •Adaptability to changes in the market, industry or company policies and business conditions
  • •Ability to Balance time effectiveness and efficiency to ensure our department meets expected service levels
  • •Solid technical skills. Ability to efficiently navigate through systems / websites to maximize time to respond and resolve the service requests of policy owners, general agents, producers, and field personnel maintaining ownership and accountability until completed, or within established turnaround times


Our Call Center Specialist - Specialty Teams position at MassMutual provides customer contact hours Monday - Friday ( NO WEEKENDS)


Required Qualifications  

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • 1+ years experience working in a call center or phone based/ service center environment
  • Ability to work shift between the hours of 6am - 6pm MST ( 8am - 8pm) EST
  • Excellent written, verbal , active listening and interpersonal skills


Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Qualifications ( additional skills that make you a great fit)

  • 1+ years of Life Service Center experience
  • 1 year insurance or Financial Services experience
  • Experience using dual monitors / multiple technology platforms
