Business Operations Manager

Englewood, CO

The Billing and Credit department supports the needs of DISH subscribers, agents, installers, and external departments by providing upfront analysis for enterprise releases and projects. The department also provides support for back-office operations and processes. The department is comprised of multiple facets with specific focus on targeted operational objectives that include, but are not limited to: 

  • Customer Payments, Refunds, and Chargebacks 
  • Billing Accuracy 
  • Customer Fraud 
  • Revenue Assurance
  • Vendor Relations (ie. CSG, Payment Gateways/Processors, eCom, Crypto, etc)

 

Billing Operations Team Overview: 

The Business Operations Manager I will lead the Payments team within Billing and Credit for all projects, & payment related projects, initiatives, and escalations tied to Dish payment operations. A successful candidate will have a strong focus on team and employee development, as well as the ability to manage multiple processes and workstreams. Also, this candidate will work on various managerial functions, data analysis, process improvement initiatives, and is willing to roll up their sleeves and get into the trenches when needed. 


Responsibilities: 

  • Manage the Payments team daily operations including hiring, performance evaluation, providing constructive feedback, and directing workflow, and team responsibilities
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert and fully understand processes and their impact on the overall Dish business; analyze, identify, and implement potential process and systems enhancements to create efficiencies and reduce resource allocation for routine tasks, procedures, and reports; assist in the completion of projects and using discretion to determine the methods to meet established goals
  • Responsible for all Dish Payment operations linked to payments, chargebacks, fraud, and refunds
  • Coordinate and manage all customer or partner payment release related activities for the organization from a Billing and Credit department perspective
  • Evaluate business needs and develop/establish Objectives and Key Results (OKRs).
  • Develop reporting, plans to achieve significant milestones, and deliver results for established OKRs
  • Identify potential opportunities for process improvement and report automation using various methods, i.e. databases, spreadsheets, external data sources, IT development, and execute changes to systems with little or no impact
  • Ability to engage team development and foster employee career growth

 

Qualifications: 

A successful Business Operations Manager I will have the following: 

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent from four-year College or technical school, preferably in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Mathematics or Statistics, and at least two years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience 
  • Experience in Customer/Vendor payments, Project, and/or Release Management preferred 
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including the ability to create and work with Pivot Tables, SUMIF, VLOOKUP functions, and exposure to Macro 
  • Experience with SQL or Microsoft Access is a plus 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint) and Google Suite 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common metrics used to measure and monitor operational performance, define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and provide clear and concise communication with a wide audience of internal departments

 

Compensation: $64,800.00/Yr. - $89,400.00/Yr.


Employment is contingent on Successful completion of a pre-employment screen, which may include a drug test.
