Business Development Manager

Position Summary:

  • Key member of business development team responsible for generating revenue through sales of integrated marketing & media platforms for the NBA, WNBA, G League, USA Basketball and NBA 2K League.

 

Major Responsibility:

  • Revenue generation through sales of integrated marketing & media platforms for the NBA, WNBA, G League, USA Basketball and NBA 2K League Ability to excel at industry research, prospect identification, outreach, pitch ideation, company profiles, P&L statements, and proposal development
  • Ability to liaise and collaborate with key internal stakeholders to vet and develop revenue generating opportunities
  • Self-starter who can leverage personal network to initiate and develop conversations/relationships with senior level marketing executives
  • Serve as a strategic business development lead for affiliate leagues/properties (e.g. USA Basketball)

 

Required Skills/Knowledge:

  • 4 to 6 years marketing, sponsorship and/or business development experience
  • Work with Commercial Development Team members to pursue prospects through initial contact strategy, development and delivery of sales presentations, negotiation and contract execution
  • Establish and build relationships with key external contacts (e.g., corporate decision makers at Fortune 500 companies and influencers in the sports marketing and agency world)
  • Research companies and identify sales prospects / key company contacts for potential sponsorship across portfolio of leagues
  • Coordinate with appropriate internal resources to develop customized programs for prospects (e.g., Media, Events, Social Responsibility, PR etc.)
  • Align with various groups in Global Partnerships such as Partnership Management, Activation, Partnership Development and Media Partnerships to bring best ideas to market
  • Ability to develop and write detailed, customized corporate presentations and partnership proposals in an articulate and concise manner
  • Energetic personality, self-motivated to succeed with a passion around uncovering synergies between Fortune 500 brands and the NBA Team player with a willingness and aptitude for managing up and sideways in a matrix organization
  • Be an example for positive corporate culture

 

Education: Bachelor's Degree
