Business Auditor

In this position... 

As a business auditor, you will have the opportunity to learn and apply the GAO’s risk-based audit methodology to support all aspects of an engagement, from pre-planning to audit execution and testing to report publication, including active participation in all management reviews. All audit engagements will be performed in accordance with GAO and the Institute of Internal Auditors' (IIA) Standards. You will work closely with Ford Credit's diverse operation teams and staff to ensure compliance with Ford financial, operational, strategic, and compliance policies and procedures. 


You will also conduct client interviews to document key business risks and their corresponding key controls. You will use analytical techniques to identify and quantify risks to the Company, and you will support communication and review forums with GAO management, operational management, internal control, PriceWaterhouseCoopers and other stakeholders. The GAO encourages and financially supports all team members that would like to pursue a professional certification, as a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA). 


RESPONSIBILITIES

What you'll do...

  • For assigned scope areas, work with Ford Credit subject matter experts to understand business processes, and to identify, sample, and test high-risk processes and controls. Document your tests, findings, and evidence through work papers saved and stored in the GRC system.
  • Align your audit findings and observations through effective communication with GAO management and the audit client (LL4 - LL6).
  • Lead assigned audit(s) as "Audit Focal" – lead communication and planning efforts with Operational Senior Management -- lead presentation of Audit Scope, communicate related observations and findings at client status meetings as well lead audit report reviews during client closing conferences where GAO Major and Minor comments and recommendations are discussed. Lead separate internal GAO reviews with Audit Manager (LL5), Audit Director (LL4), and General Auditor (LL3). Take lead author responsibility for the formal audit report incorporating both internal (GAO) and external (client) feedback.


QUALIFICATIONS

You'll have...

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or equivalent
  • 3+ years of corporate auditing experience, finance experience, or equivalent. 


Even better, you may have...

  • Finance /Business degree 
  • Experience within a Ford Finance function
  • Strong analytical skills, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Enjoy working as part of team, but also have the ability to take your own audit scope areas and complete assigned work on time and with quality.
  • Interest in developing a “risk control” mindset to support the Company's risk management process.

This position is a range of salary grades 6-8 .
