Business Analyst
This position is primarily responsible for providing financial and business analysis and decision support to the North America Food Testing organization. This position serves as a key business partner to Senior Management, Lab Leadership and Commercial stakeholders to help achieve business objectives including profitable business growth.
Areas of focus include but are not limited to the following:
- Regular management reporting (e.g. weekly forecasts, monthly scorecards, quarterly business reviews)
- Manage the financial forecasting and budgeting processes
- Pricing & customer proposal evaluation
- Identify and implement strategies for enhanced price recovery and profit
- Coordinate the above and related processes as needed with Eurofins Shared Service and Group resources
- Support/Lead special projects in support of business objectives
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates and promotes the company vision
- Assist with providing the necessary planning, organization, direction, and control to meet the goals of the company.
- Establish and maintain professional business relationships with clients, industry officials, and peers.
- Contribute to the Corporate Management team and provide input toward the financial growth and development of the company.
- Contribute to projects for the overall operational success of the laboratory
- Assist with optimization of day to day operations of the business
- Understand and follow each Quality System document relevant to employment responsibilities, e.g., methods, SOPs, etc. when contributing to projects
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill or ability required.
- BS or BBA degree in business or life sciences, MBA a plus
- 5+ years of business-related experience
- Demonstrated computer skills – requires excellent MS Office experience (specifically Excel, Outlook)
- Demonstrated ability to plan, multi-task and prioritize
- Demonstrated teamwork, communication (written and verbal), and organizational skills
- Experience in a scientific or logistics environment is a plus
- Proven ability to work independently
- Ability to work to deadlines
- Strong analytical skills
- Positive attitude and sense of urgency
- Advanced Excel skills (algorithms, macros, pivot tables, etc) a plus
- Ability to learn new tasks
- Ability to think critically and solve problems quickly and efficiently
- Excellent customer service skills, attention to detail and ability to be persistent while maintaining tact
