Business Administration Officer

Toronto, ON

The Business Administration Officer supports Citi Canada’s Chief Country Officer and the CCO Office in all aspects of operational activities of the country office. The role also provides research and data analytic capability to support development of country-wide strategic initiatives and annual business / strategy plans. The individual will work on ad hoc projects as requested. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required to guide and influence the partnering functions and businesses at the country level.


Responsibilities:

Provide key support for the development and ongoing execution of Canada strategy and control environment including:

  • Responsible for Canada Franchise Third Party Management and will be appointed as Canada Third Party Management Coordinator and In Business Privacy Officer.
  • Support the CCO Office with implementing Citi’s transformation program in Canada and associated global programs.
  • Support CCO Office in providing information and reports to the regulators.
  • Support the CCO Office in implementing the new global legal entity governance requirements being implemented.
  • Support the Franchise Risk & Control team in the execution of Canada MGE annual risk assessment, consisting of 37 in-country business / function assessment units.
  • Support the preparation of franchise-wide analytics around risk/control metrics, including regulatory and IA issues, loss events, near misses, control gaps and process deficiencies.
  • Support CCO in partnership with Global ICG Risk and Control in global transformation effort to improve the design and operating effectiveness of MCA program and regulatory remediation actions.
  • Support Franchise Risk & Control team  in managing in-business risk and control forum across all key businesses and functions to improve collaboration, communication, and oversight, and provide required datasets for holistic review of country wide risk appetite, risk/control management and proactive residual risk management.
  • Work with Finance and Risk to complete the ICAAP assessment.
  • Work with Canada Risk & Control team to review and introduce new procedures ensuring consistency and coverage from a country perspective.
  • Work with the Canada Risk & Control team in managing Franchise Internal Audit and Regulatory reviews.
  • Influence and facilitate the creation of long-term relationships within the organization which add value to the Canadian Franchise.
  • Support the CCO in implementing the COB plan when required.
  • Work closely with the 1st LOD, support functions and global partners to ensure Canada is following global processes and is prepared for new global projects impacting Canada.
  • Support the Franchise Risk & Control team in ad hoc franchise-wide risk and control programs, including helping to define the strategy, approach, processes, quality, tools and reporting that provide global risk management consistency and excellence.
  • Works closely with in country business partners and Franchise Risk & Controls on findings and makes recommendations on improving practices.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree in Risk, Finance or Audit disciplines. Master’s degree a plus.
  • 5 years or more relevant work experience in Chief Administrative Office or Chief Operating Office a plus.
  • 5+ years’ experience within banking required.
  • Direct experience in internal controls and administration within Banking framework.
  • MS Excel, MS Access, SAS, SQL, Visual Basic a plus.
  • Experience in identifying possible risks and proactively develop mitigation plans.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead global team efforts.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills. Ability to see the big pictures with high attention to critical details.
  • Ability to analyze the complex business data and develop innovative solutions.
  • Ability to negotiate effectively with key employees, top management to take desired action.
  • Possess strategic leadership with track record demonstrating ability to develop and implement strategy and process improvement initiatives.
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
