Brand Manager

Brand Managers own their Canadian brands. They create and execute brand operating plans, all commercial programs and manage the delivery of annual business objectives for their Brands.  In addition, the Brand Manager provides leadership to cross functional teams to other Sales, Marketing, and Finance Professionals within their applicable sector.   

In this role, you will:

  • Drive delivery of Brand business objectives including net sales, operating profit, gross margin & market share.
  • Own the long-range vision and plans for the brand.
  • Lead the development of the 3-year Brand Operating Plan, commercial programs and annual plan delivery.
  • Act as the key marketing contact on cross-functional team interacting regularly with R&D, Product Supply, Business Analysis, Business Planning, and Marketing Research.
  • Own Canadian Brand idea & serve as key contact for all advertising/integrated marketing agency relationships.
  • Provide project and/or marketing leadership on innovation projects relative to Canada.
  • Engage strategic customer teams & sales strategy team to ensure delivery of plan.
  • Consult on the long-term innovation plan for the brand through North American collaboration.
  • Identify and develop relevant consumer and/or shopper insights.
  • Collaborate across relevant brand categories, to identify and proactively drive efficient Brand building.
  • Provide leadership to the Canadian Brand portfolio team.
  • Define strategic category and Brand learning plan needs.
  • Effectively set & manage Brand Advertising, Consumer Promotion and Retail Media.
  • Effectively lead implementation of Innovation Summits & long-term business building sessions with customers.
  • Lead ad hoc projects as required by the business.

To succeed in this role, you will need the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field.
  • 5+ years prior Marketing experience, ideally in CPG.
  • Entrepreneur can-do attitude to find ways to break down growth barriers.
  • Demonstrated positive energy to effectively represent Brand internally & externally – robust presentation skills.
  • Passionate about driving Brand growth by better meeting consumer needs.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with diagnosing and resolving complex problems and opportunities.
  • Ability to craft vision and strategy and make it come to life with actionable plans.
  • High familiarity with leading Brand development – planning, innovation and creative ideation processes
  • Highly capable of writing/evaluating initiative and communications briefs.
  • Able to make tough, informed decisions quickly to keep performance on track.
  • Experience with data & financial analysis.
  • Ability to work independently (self-motivated) and complete projects within required timeframes.
  • Able to lead and inspire cross functional teams to deliver strong innovation plans.
  • Ability to travel 10% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree in Marketing/Business Administration or MBA.
  • Demonstrated success in bringing innovation to market.
  • Able to inspire, motivate, and lead project teams to achieve outstanding results.
  • History of demonstrated success in the development/execution of brand marketing plans.
  • Strong Nielsen experience.
  • Able to work in a matrix organization driving collaboration across functions, geographies and businesses.
  • Experience coaching & mentoring.
  • Experience supporting organizational change.
  • Commercial program development.

The anticipated pay range for this job has a range of $114,200-$190,400 in addition to bonus potential. Individual pay levels will be based on multiple factors including, but are not limited to, location, role, skill set and level of experience.
