Associate Visual Communications Specialist

The Legal team provides responsive, collaborative, high-quality legal services and sound business solutions to our partners across all areas of PetSmart including business relationships, employment law, associate relations, real estate transactions, and others. They ensure we are operating with integrity and in line with our strategic initiatives.

Hybrid Position: This position may be considered Hybrid based on PetSmart’s FlexSmart policy and business needs. A Hybrid work arrangement is considered to be a blend of onsite and remote work activity. Associates with a Hybrid work arrangement have a work space at Phoenix Home Office and can be required to come onsite between 1-5 days a week as determined by leadership and based on business needs.

The Visual Communication Specialist will be a critical part of our team – responsible for bringing to life PetSmart's vast stories to internal and external audiences through exceptional visual storytelling that informs, motivates and inspires associates while building on PetSmart’s strategic initiatives and culture.

This content producer is responsible for delivering visual storytelling and multimedia communications and ensuring that the communication objectives are met and that all projects are completed accurately and on schedule.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for the final delivery of compelling visual communications, including PowerPoint presentations, signage, and infographics, along with additional one-off projects.
Delivers content on schedule in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Executes brand look and feel consistently across all creative deliverables
Works productively and harmoniously as a teammate with internal communications, PR and business partners
Collaborates and thrives in a corporate environment with a professional and positive attitude
Stays relevant with current design trends and technology
Adaptability to software demands as needs arise
Able to interpret and understand brand guidelines and develop original designs within those predefined parameters.

REQUIRED SKILLS

Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop, Lightroom, InDesign)
Experience creating professional and compelling visual communications start to finish
Ability to distill complex information and tell a story using visual communication mediums, motion graphics a plus
Knowledge of photography lighting, capture and editing preferred
Strong sensibility for design, color, layout and visual problem-solving
Strong written and verbal communication in a professional environment
Ability to present creative ideas, provide rationale behind creative strategies, present work at internal creative reviews and to external business partners; is receptive and open to input and feedback
Motivated, flexible, detail-oriented, with strong organizational skills
Experience working in a retail creative environment a plus
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint
Working knowledge of Microsoft software applications (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Up to 15% travel

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Minimum of 1+ years of relevant experience in an in-house creative department, marketing/ad agency or design-focused freelancing.
Will be required to submit a portfolio of work
