Associate Social Media Manager

New York, NY

Vanity Fair is seeking an Associate Social Media Manager to manage and optimize daily content posting. In addition to daily posting, this role will work closely with other social and audience development team members to execute a social strategy across platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and more. Along with a passion for storytelling and attention to detail, the candidate should have some knowledge of, or an interest in, social media. This role is intended for someone with strong writing skills and enthusiasm about joining a leading cultural brand.


Duties: 

  • Manage and execute posting schedule on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and other platforms
  • Assist with breaking news coverage 
  • Collaborate with the edit, art, and visual departments on promoting longform features and strong subscription drivers on social platforms and in newsletters
  • Ensure all posts are optimized and tracked for performance
  • Work with brand analyst to report on regular progress and learnings 
  • Collaborate with social team and editors to improve social headlines and descriptions
  • Develop relationships with social managers at other Condé Nast brands within the broader audience development team; gather strategies, product updates and best practices and report them back to Vanity Fair 
  • Communicate social trends to editors and VF staff 
  • Assist audience development director with tentpole, ecommerce, podcast, and subscription strategies 


Overview/Purpose: 

  • A minimum requirement of 1-2 years of social media experience
  • Knowledge of the social media space and an eye for developments and changes in the marketplace
  • An understanding of social analytics tools and social scheduling is appreciated
  • Excellent editorial judgement, writing skills, and ability to capture brand voice to reach new and established audiences
  • Confident, collaborative, and communicative with a desire to thrive in a fast-paced media environment
  • Outstanding organizational skills, focus, and attention to detail
  • An interest in pop culture, Hollywood, and news/politics is a plus 
  • Must complete an edit test
