The Associate Manager of Corporate Communications is a key player on a team dedicated to driving forward the external communications and CSR efforts for the company and setting the agenda of corporate reputation and executive visibility across our divisions. This role will work day to day with integrated internal communications teammates, as well as the PR leads and supports for the banners (including Foot Locker, Kids Foot Locker, Champs Sports, Eastbay, atmos, WSS, and Sidestep) to ensures the company message is consistent, timely and relevant with a strong through-line to the corporate narrative in the US and Globally. The role will manage media requests both proactively and reactively and maintain the media lists, project background and media materials needed across Corporate workstreams. This individual is an ambassador, communicator and storyteller for the company’s foundation, The Foot Locker Foundation, and maintains and builds strong relationships with the media and key stakeholders to help drive corporate mission with the goal to advance the organization’s position as a leader in its industry.


Responsibilities

  • Manages media efforts to support external corporate storytelling and support executive visibility platform for parent brand
  • Supports CSR mission for the organization and directs giving with the Foundation yearly. Responsible for the creation, development and implementation of campaign initiatives, community events, and corporate mission to show strength in category, and industry, generate positive coverage and help advance the larger business story around Foot Locker Inc.’s family of brands.
  • Supports day to day integrated internal communications efforts including administrative and workstream flow to move along projects across external and owned channels using communications tools and best practices.
  • Works in conjunction with other departments including those in executive leadership teams as well as legal, IR, HR, marketing and advertising, brand management and social media.
  • Develops and nurtures meaningful relationships with all internal stakeholders.
  • Establishes and develops media relationships across media verticals as well
  • Writes and edits company materials with team including: press releases, executive speeches, keynotes, messaging documents.
  • Collaborate with other divisions to develop the key messaging around company CSR and internal and development opportunities, partner marketing and CSR events and initiatives.
  • Supports PR strategic counsel on issues or concerns, especially during crisis situations.
  • Work closely with partner organizations to grow relationships and platforms


Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4 years experience in the public relations and communications field, at a major corporation or marketing and communications agency
  • Understands company's brand’s missions, aiming to get the word out about the company while highlighting its best attributes
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Confident, organized, innovative, team player, detail oriented and capable problem-solvers
  • Knowledge and deep understanding of social media platforms is a must
  • Comfortable in front of a camera
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Familiarity with monitoring services
  • Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel and Word
  • Travel required
