Associate Manager Communications

Hasbro is seeking an Associate Manager, Communications to join our dynamic and growing Global Corporate Communications team! This role has a direct line to top company executives and communications leaders across businesses and markets to provide important company, competitor, partner, trend, and issues news. It ensures Hasbro leaders are equipped with real-time information and knowledge from earned media and serves as a central resource for the wider Global Communications function with oversight of key communications tools including, but not limited to, the global editorial calendar and centralized media lists. The role requires a deep understanding of and appetite for news, the ability to quickly read and synthesize news, strong writing skills, proactive research abilities, as well as comfort updating a website.

 

This position can be located in either Rhode Island or New York.

 

A day in the life as an Associate Manager, Communications:

  • Deliver media stories related to Hasbro, its businesses and brands, competitors, and customers, as well as relevant issues and trends
  • Provide analysis of news stories, trends and issues
  • Support earned media capabilities by ensuring accuracy in Hasbro related news
  • Develop and edit news summary for top leaders
  • Maintain the global editorial calendar
  • Update the newsroom of the corporate website
  • Collaborate closely with business communications teams to source news; collaborate with internal communications and social media lead to amplify positive Hasbro stories through owned channels (e.g. LinkedIn)
  • Support with media list development and Master Media List maintenance, identifying potential new press relationships based on related coverage

 

What you'll bring:

  • The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience working in a fast-paced, news-driven environment within a large global company or PR agency
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Online research abilities
  • A genuine interest in, and understanding of, earned media and news, along with a strong appetite for current events and how they impact business
  • An understanding of social media and the changing media landscape
  • Strong communicator who is comfortable working with and supporting C-suite executives, and collaborating across teams
  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year College or University with focus on Communications/English
