The Opportunity at Volta Charging

Volta Charging is seeking an experienced, full time, US-based Associate Attorney. The attorney’s responsibilities will include providing legal advice and support for a variety of commercial transactions including both sales and supply agreements. This attorney will work closely with legal and business teams to structure, negotiate and draft a wide variety of commercial contracts, including real estate, software, supply and other commercial agreements. The ideal candidate will be able to handle at times complex contract negotiations with internal and external business partners. The attorney will support the Company by leading commercial contract negotiations; drafting agreements and contract templates; clearly and concisely identifying and explaining the ramifications of contractual terms to the business decision-makers and third-parties during contract negotiations; and providing ongoing management and maintenance of contracts.

This position is remote, but will be based in NYC Area

January start is possible, if desired

In your first 90 days, you will:

Demonstrate a willingness to learn and competency to understand internal business, operational, financial and technical matters, to provide sound legal advice and risk analysis to Volta stakeholders, while simultaneously assisting them in achieving their commercial objectives.
Review legal and business terms for US sales contracts with site partners, NDA's and vendor contracts
Work through Jira (contract workflow) and Ironclad (site contracts)

After twelve months, you will have accomplished:

Become a reliable point person for company business teams for handling their contracts and negotiations.
Begun to supervise contract administrators and other professionals in handling the company’s legal needs.
Achieved an understanding of the Company’s contracting processes and suggested efficiency improvements.

What you bring to Volta Charging:

Juris Doctor from accredited law school
Member of a State Bar and in good standing
1-3 years of legal experience
Experience negotiating and drafting contracts
Excellent writing, drafting and verbal communications skills
Able to quickly identify issues, communicate the Company’s position, interact in a professional and effective manner and close deals
Organizational, time-management and prioritization capabilities; able to manage workload independently, efficiently and with minimal supervision
Process-oriented, excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to prioritize tasks, detail oriented, ability to maintain a positive work environment
Must be a team player
