Assistant Treasurer

Salary Range: $80,000 - $100,000


Bonus: 10%


Position Objective:

The primary objective for the Assistant Treasurer will be to manage incoming and outgoing cash effectively and develop strategies to optimize the cash position of the company.


Principal Responsibilities:

Banking and Lender Activities:

Manage banking and lender relationships along with regular reporting of compliance and covenants Develop and implement strategies to optimize the cash position of the company Manage incoming and outgoing cash effectively with predictive forecasting of the company’s cash position on a daily, weekly, monthly basis Ensure monthly reconciliations are complete for accounting and audit purposes. Evaluate investment options and risk factors before investing surplus funds. Create policies and procedures to improve the efficiency of cash collections, funds transfers, cash disbursements, month-end account closing activities, and inter-departmental reporting in all locations and the corporate offices. Remain current on cannabis related banking rules and regulations. Maintain the security of cash resources and financial data. Develop A/R process and ensure timely collections and manage of doubtful accounts Manage safe handling and cash pickup with third party providers Develop credit policy Develop POS controls, safe handling, tips treatment and training Ensure the banking, POS, and cash pickup needs are met for new acquisitions in partner with our M&A integrations team.


Risk/Insurance:

In Partership with our CFO, Controller and Licensing Team: Manage relationship with external insurance brokers for company policies Ensure proper placement of coverage for acquired facilities Manage initial placement, annual rebids, and insurance renewals Maintain low-loss ratios Ensure a high standard of customer service Conduct audits to ensure compliance with internal and external policies Perform insurance functions as needed, including processing claims, billings, and policy changes Remain current on cannabis related insurance requirements


Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree Required – Finance and Accounting Minimum 5 years on increasing experience in cash and risk management Knowledge and Other Desired Qualifications:
  • Attention to detail and accuracy is critical. Ability to prioritize and multi-task. Computer skills required include working knowledge of email and Microsoft software programs, especially Excel. Ability to stay calm and professional under pressure and tight deadlines. Work Location: One location - On Site
