Assistant Store Manager

Austin, TX

The Assistant Store Manager will join us at our flagship location on South Congress in Austin, Texas and help oversee all aspects, from hiring and training staff, to assisting with forecasting and managing inventory, to maintaining an extraordinary level of visual merchandising and driving a culture that delivers an exceptional authentic customer experience. As our host, storyteller, and leader of the business, our Assistant Store Manager will be focused on assisting our Retail General Manager in daily store operations, back-end operations, development, and personnel management. We’re looking for an outgoing leader who is proactive, a solution-oriented team player and one who takes initiative and runs with projects with varying levels of direction. The Assistant Store Manager will have a customer service-oriented mindset and thrives in fast-paced, ever-changing entrepreneurial environments


What You’ll Do

Team Management & Development

  • Motivate and support the team so that they perform at their highest level to meet their individual and store objectives
  • Support the Store Manager in the in-store training routine and on-boarding of new hires
  • Assume the role of Store Manager in the absence of the Store Manager in accordance with Company operating standards
  • Supervise store personnel and enforce company policies
  • Identify, recruit and develop talents in collaboration with the Store Manager
  • Manage and motivate the team to drive business: create a positive and harmonious work environment and foster cooperation within the team
  • Proactively assess and manage performance of the team
  • Act as a role model demonstrating sales leadership to the team by supporting them with Customer Journey, selling ceremony, client retention and fostering cross selling
  • Ensure policies, brand standards and grooming guidelines are communicated and implemented


Inventory Management

  • • Ensure that merchandise is properly managed, displayed, stored and maintained by team
  • Support Store Manager in maintaining inventory accuracy and shrink rates within company standards, such as making sure cycle count procedures are completed as per guidelines
  • Ensure opening/closing counting duties are completed as required


Retail Performance

  • Ensure proper procedures are being met regarding cash, credit card and check processing
  • Control petty cash is in accordance with company policy and procedure
  • Support Store Manager in ensuring Top Store standards are being implemented and met
  • Assist Store Manager in morning briefs as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 5 years’ leadership experience in retail preferred
  • Minimum 3 years’ luxury experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience a plus
  • Strong drive for results; goal oriented
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to use POS system and its inventory management functions
  • RTW experience preferred
  • Foreign language skill is a plus
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to lift boxes / weight up to 10lbs
  • Organizational and strong computer skills required
  • Flexible availability, some nights, weekends, and holidays
