Assistant Store Manager

San Jose, CA

The Assistant Store Manager is responsible to drive the retail store business and customer experience to achieve establish goals through hands-on leadership and contributions. The Assistant Store Manager is assigned to a Division of Responsibility (DOR) that will focus on the operational and selling aspects of the business while maintaining a strong motivated retail team. This position will report to the Store Manager.

  • Adhere to all city and state regulations
  • Establish store goals through strategic action plans and effective initiatives centered around unparalleled customer experience.
  • Actively supervise the sales floor and aid as needed perform
  • Manage assigned Division of Responsibility (schedule, payroll, attendance, product knowledge, sales initiatives, etc.)
  • Proactively discuss accountability, and coaching while providing positive feedback, when conducting performance improvement plans.
  • Oversee hiring and onboarding. Maintain a team of customer service first, focused employees.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management


What You Have

  • 2-4 years of retail management experience
  • Entry-level knowledge of cannabis products and related vocabulary is preferred
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Must be reliable and dependable with a good work ethic
  • Must be able to adapt to changing work environment
  • Ability to work as part of a team


Working Environment

  • Operations: This position will work in an indoor manufacturing facility with controlled temperatures; may be exposed to bright lighting, loud equipment, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and working in proximity with staff and vendors.
  • Retail: This position will work in an indoor facility with controlled temperatures; maybe exposed to bright lighting, loud equipment, airborne particles, and working in proximity with customers and staff.
  • This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, filing cabinets and may work in proximity with customers and staff.


Job Requirements

  • Work revolves around objectives, projects, and priorities, not hours; must be able to work weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime as needed.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, lift, sit, and bend for a majority of their work schedule.
  • Must be able to travel to other office locations.
  • Ability to use computer and calculator for 8 hours or more.
  • Required to have a valid driver's license with acceptable driving history. Must have own transportation.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Must comply with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry.
  • Selected candidate will be required to complete a post offer, pre-employment background check with the local law enforcement or local Police Department.
