Assistant Social Media Producer

Remote (United States)

Forbes is seeking an Assistant Social Media Producer to join crucial department whose mission is spread Forbes’ high-quality journalism and content. You will help cover the realms of breaking news, business, as well as Forbes’ high-profile events, verticals, and signature lists. We are looking for an eager, smart social media-savvy producer who lives and breathes news, has an interest in markets and entrepreneurism, has an ever-expanding digital and social media understanding and toolset, and someone who enjoys being part of a fast-paced environment where creativity and teamwork are highly valued.


This is a 3-month temporary assignment and will report to the Deputy Social Media Director.


Responsibilities:

  • Post content from Forbes.com across multiple platforms, keeping track of breaking news and ongoing editorial initiatives
  • Create original text, photo, and video content for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn using Forbes.com reporting and assets
  • A/B test headlines/images in article posts in an engagement-first strategy, monitor breaking trends and ensure that content is published in a timely manner


Requirements:

  • Team player with a good sense of humor who is willing to offer ideas and receive them, interested in taking real ownership of the platforms especially on weekends
  • Strong editorial judgment with a keen understanding of news, politics, business, pop culture
  • Strategic thinker, someone who can balance multiple news events at once and understand what to prioritize and how to disseminate a story
  • Basic-to-intermediate familiarity and experience using creative apps like Adobe Photoshop and Premiere, Canva, and others
  • At least two years’ experience working on a social media news team and/or at a news assignment
