We are currently looking for an Assistant Merchandiser to join our team in New York, NY!


Assist in managing the development and execution of fashion products in accordance with agreed upon design, pricing and brand strategy for Perry Ellis sportswear.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with Merchandiser in maintaining design calendar and development process to ensure timely completion.
  • Participates in merchandising strategies and seasonal line plans to build profitable assortments that will meet internal margin goals.
  • Assist in the creation of seasonal hindsight to analyze business and provide learning to cross-functional teams to help identify opportunities
  • Assist Merchandiser in creating seasonal sku plans
  • Works closely with Merchandiser and VP of Merchandising as well as design to monitor assortments and maintain consistent brand image
  • Actively research the competition to identify key items, trends and propose pricing strategies
  • Interface with all functional areas of the business (design, sales, sourcing, marketing) to maintain successful workflow
  • Learn to analyze retail sales with planning and design team to identify opportunities
  • Create market tools
  • Follow up with marketing on all brand related projects
  • Keep past, current and upcoming seasons assortment and pricing sheets updated
  • Upload LDPs into costing system
  • Coordinate meetings dates and times
  • Order, check in and distribute samples
  • Assist in reviewing samples with Design and Product Development to ensure products meet quality requirements and target margin
  • Support the Merchandiser in all phases of product development and merchandising strategy


SKILLS

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Proficient in Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Slides. etc.)
  • Knowledge of retail math
  • Detail oriented
  • Organizational skills required
  • Strong follow-up skills required


REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Merchandising or related experience is preferred (1-2 years)
  • Salary offered will be commensurate with experience. For this New York based position, the expected hourly rate is $25-$32/hr.
