Assistant Manager, Social Media Listening & Analytics

The Assistant Manager position leads the measurement of “earned” and “owned” social performance across the Estée Lauder Companies brands and to develop best practices to drive improvements in the social media engagement in earned and owned activity. The role is essential in continued development of social listening capabilities company-wide, including ratings and reviews and consumer search analytics.


This role will report into the Executive Director, GTM Strategy & Analytics, providing support to various cross-functional and global, region and affiliate brand partners in their efforts to drive the business by making informed decisions to deliver against critical business objectives. The Asst. Manager will be comfortable utilizing and analyzing various social tools / sources to provide actionable insights to help influence decisions and action planning for brand strategies that drive sales and growth.


The ideal candidate should be a curious self-starter who can leverage social listening tools and technologies, apply critical thinking skills and deliver robust strategic and analytical business insights. Candidate should also have strong relationship-building and communication skills along with a strong understanding of the evolving social/ digital media landscape as well as a deep passion for uncovering insights from social media.


Responsibilities: 

•   Lead development of social listening capabilities and insights discovery;

•   Establish consistent ongoing reporting of performance on social across brands and key subcategories. 

•   Create deeper dive analytics as needed within the GTM Strategy & Analytics team to focus on specific brand focused on specific brand needs; 

•   Help to drive social analytics initiatives for the corporation to identify and extract internal and external data required for social listening and analysis;

•   Prepare analysis of findings and recommendations and to analyze usage within the organization;

•   Synthesize various social data sources to help to drive business initiatives and go-to-market processes

•   Deliver social media KPIs including scorecards of share of engagement from “earned” consumer conversations and influencer-generated social content and share of engagement from brands’ “owned” social media handles;

•   Deliver analytics based on consumer rating and reviews feedback, including analyzing areas of over- and under-delivery for product performance and identify commercial innovation opportunities based on the analytics;

•   Lead relationships with social vendors and customize deliverables and platforms to meet key stakeholder needs. 

 

Qualifications

•   BA/BS required, MBA a plus;

•   2 - 4 years of relevant work experience (in social listening or social analytics at a marketing, advertising, market research, digital, ecommerce firm); 

•   Preferred digital analytics experience from a fast-paced client-side or agency organization;

•   Deep experience in social/digital analytics and understanding online conversations. Mastery in using social listening tools (e.g. Netbase, Sprinklr, Spredfast/Khoros, Sprout Social, Launchmetrics or Meltwater), social media analytics (e.g., Socialbakers, Dash Hudson, Google Analytics, Spate), data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI);

•   Strong background/interest in developing custom Boolean queries applied in social listening tools/technologies;

•   Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills and a proven ability to build collaborative partnerships;

•   Experience prioritizing and juggling numerous projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment;

•   Enjoy having a strategic impact at an executive level, including interacting with other leaders on issues and applying strong judgment and analysis toward important business decisions;

•   Skilled at operating in a complex, cross-functional organization or company where you need to collaborate and integrate with other teams across many disciplines.
