Assistant Manager, Credit & Collection

Los Alamitos, CA

At Epson America, Inc., we look for people driven by a desire to contribute, be challenged and grow. Our people make Epson America, Inc. a special company. We are looking for a Credit & Collection Assistant Manager with heavy experience analyzing financial statements and managing a Credit/Collection department to join our headquarters team.

 

You will be Responsible for participating in managing the credit and collection operation to ensure maximum amount of product is shipped at acceptable risk levels and outstanding invoices are collected in a timely manner.

 

This position will be based out of Epson America’s headquarters in Los Alamitos, CA with the opportunity for a hybrid work schedule.


Credit and Collections Management

  • Participates in managing corporate credit and collections department to ensure adherence to department policies
  • Approves credit exposures of up to $500,000 per account in US and authorizes release of orders to those accounts
  • Manages account exposure for accounts in multiple subsidiaries 
  • Participates in managing Corporate Accounts Receivables to ensure outstanding invoices are collected and reconciled in a timely manner
  • Authorizes collection agency activity on accounts up to $2,500
  • Recommends collection litigation
  • Authorizes Bad Debt write-offs to $5,000
  • Participate in the preparation of month end management reports
  • Manages monthly credit meetings between Sales/Sales Operations and Credit management

 

Financial Analysis:

  • Ensures the timely and accurate credit review of all new and existing customer accounts according to the credit guidelines 
  • Ensures proper approvals are stored and retrievable for audit purposes. 
  • Includes training, reporting, process re-engineering and project management related to this area. 

 

Relationship Management

  • Participates in monthly credit meetings between Sales/Sales Operations and Credit management
  • Responsible for hiring, motivating, evaluating, and coaching team members
  • Builds strong relationships with peers and Senior Managers to best meet company goals and objectives


Department Management

  • Approves credit exposures 
  • Operates within budgetary constraints, participates in the development of annual budget forecasts; participates in updating and reconciling operating and budget plans as required.
  • Participate in the preparation of month end management reports and team reports
  • Develops and maintains written departmental standards and procedures
  • Directly contributes to development of tactical and annual operating plans, defining goals and objectives for the group


What you will bring

  • 3+ years’ experience analyzing financial statements in a commercial collection environment
  • 3+ years’ experience managing a credit and collection team 
  • 5+ years’ experience reconciling accounts receivables and managing dispute claims
  • Good interpersonal, listening, verbal and written communication skills
  • Enjoy leading a team while possessing a strong independent work ethic
  • Good customer service skills
  • Advanced in Microsoft office Excel
  • Completion of an undergraduate degree, (B.A. or B.S.), or equivalent experience
  • Experience with ERP (experience working in SAP credit, collections and claims modules preferred)

 

The starting annual base pay for this role is between USD $91,258 and $118,098. The actual base is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
