Assistant Controller

New York, NY

This position is responsible for assisting the C.F.O. with financial projects and the review and closing of each quarter.


Major Responsibilities:

  • Review the final books, prepare allocations and tax journal entries for the company.
  • Prepare earnings per share schedule for the company.
  • Prepare Management's Discussion, Analysis of Financial Condition and Results of Operations on a quarterly basis.
  • Prepare 10-K, Annual Reports and Proxies.
  • Reconcile Income Statements and Balance Sheets.
  • Manages company audits and corporate taxes.
  • Assist auditors with financial information and schedules.
  • Prepare schedules and spreadsheets for multi-task projects.
  • Interacts with financial institutions and investment accounts.
  • Manages corporate insurance and insures company is in safe position.
  • Under limited supervision, anticipates and solves problems for self, and other lower level employees.
  • Special projects as required
  • Other duties may be assigned


Supervisory Responsibilities: Has limited supervisory responsibility for small to medium groups of employees.

  • Job duties are widely varied, and frequently require attention to and/or coordination of concurrent job duties.


Education, Licenses, Certificates, Registrations and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting.
  • 3-5 years experience with public companies
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word, especially Word and Excel
