Qualifications / Experience:

  • Degree or diploma in Environmental Health Safety program or industry recognized program with EHS related certification
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Occupational, Health and Safety role in area of: railway, construction, transportation, and/or industrial sector
  • Knowledge of Quebec and\or Ontario EHS regulations
  • Coordination skills, well organized
  • English speaking and writing \ French as well (Preferable)
  • Agile
  • Railway and\or construction background, or similar
  • Strong team working


Responsibilities:

  • Monitor legislative updates and update EHS program as required to ensure ongoing compliance. Review and update the list of legal requirements. Perform gap assessment for any new\change to regulatory requirements.
  • Support the Rolling Stock team for EHS topics and seek support from EHS field specialist for major topics.
  • Develop, monitor, and support all aspects of the EHS program to ensure compliance with applicable provincial and other regulatory requirements. Support operationalization of these programs.
  • Monitor, track, and report on EHS program and customer KPIs implement initiatives to address trends.
  • Prepare reports for management reviews (PMRC, incident summary, lessons learned, reporting requirements…)
  • Interface with procurement for on-site supplier qualification.
  • Ensure reporting requirements are complied with. 
  • Perform various internal audits. Plan and execute both internal and external audits as required.
  • Change management: support and accompany the teams to facilitate the implementation of the management system and EHS programs.
  • Support EHS communications.
  • Ensure training curriculums are up to date
  • Coordinate training sessions in order to meet the training requirement for the various positions across Canada, update the database and liaise with business units.
