Advance Engineer

Fort Worth, TX

The SPM Oil & Gas team is looking for an Advanced Engineer located in Fort Worth, Texas. As an Advanced Engineer at SPM Oil & Gas, you will develop and produce designs with associated 3D models suitable for production. Creates 3D models and assemblies from sketches, drawings, and other sources.  Produces detailed reports of changes to Engineering documents for use in the production of parts and assemblies. Engineer design details to include some forms of analysis whether structural, kinematic, thermal, acoustic, fluid, etc.


Job Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Design new products that meet customer and internal safety, performance, certification, cost and timing objectives
  • Improve existing products by: Define, create and maintain development methodologies, procedures and standards for drafting etiquette
  • Enhance the product performance or reducing the overall cost - Define, create and maintain development methodologies, procedures and standards for drafting etiquette
  • Provide some leadership and detailed input to the cross-functional design review process to ensure optimum product designs are developed and executed
  • Competence in use of and compliance with the prescribed product data management process (Solidworks EPDM)
  • Function as a recognized company resource other groups/functions within the local company regard individual as qualified Source Matter Expert (SME)
  • Ability to lead/assist junior Designers and Drafters
  • Ability to manage assigned projects, effectively leading cross-functional teams
  • Create, maintain and optimize 3-dimensional virtual component models and assemblies through Solidworks
  • Create, maintain and manage associated 2D drawings through Solidworks and/or AutoCAD
  • Conduct tolerance stack analyses, Optional: Basic finite element and computational fluid dynamic analysis; animated simulation and basic post production; providing results, conclusions and proposed improvements to other engineering staff
  • Support engineers with appropriate technical communication with customers
  • Present the status and plans of projects and concerns to internal teams and senior management as requested


Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from a four-year college or university
  • 3+ years’ industry experience in Mechanical Engineering or relevant technical field
  • Demonstrated experience developing and delivering product enhancements
  • Familiarity with stress and metallurgical analysis beneficial
  • Design engineering experience required


Top Candidate Will Also Have:

  • Solidworks/Ansys/PDM Familiarity
  • Black Belt experience
  • Failure analysis experience
