Accounts Receivable Manager

Our principals have significant experience investing in healthcare, consumer products, and regulated markets and have been actively focused on the cannabis industry since 2015. Our leadership at Ethos Cannabis has experience developing and leading successful cannabis operators in the U.S. 


We are seeking a highly motivated Accounts Receivable Manager with a "can do" attitude, analytical mind, and excellent interpersonal skills to lead our accounts receivable operations within the wholesale division. This role is pivotal for someone with a proactive mindset, a keen analytical ability, and outstanding communication skills, aiming to contribute to our expanding business. The ideal candidate will exhibit meticulous attention to detail and the capacity to effectively represent the accounts receivable function across all facets of the company.


As the Accounts Receivable Manager, you will begin building the Accounts Receivable department by ensuring diligent management of invoicing, customer follow-ups, payment tracking, and the generation of insightful weekly and monthly financial reports. Your leadership will extend across our operations in Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Maryland, and other states as we broaden our reach. Your responsibilities will be integral to maintaining accurate financial records, enhancing our budgeting and financial closing processes, and ensuring our financial practices align with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor the Accounts Receivable team, fostering an environment of continuous improvement and excellence in financial management.
  • Collaborate closely with the AR Senior Manager and Controller to refine and implement robust control systems, transaction-processing operations, and accounting policies and procedures tailored to the accounts receivable function.
  • Spearhead efforts in invoice reconciliation, ensuring accuracy and compliance in all financial transactions related to accounts receivable.
  • Drive the strategic management of customer accounts, including diligent follow-up on outstanding invoices and proactive resolution of billing discrepancies.
  • Play a key role in financial forecasting by providing accurate receivables data, supporting the company's financial planning and analysis efforts.
  • Ensure the integrity and confidentiality of all accounts receivable records, in line with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct thorough analyses and prepare detailed reports on accounts receivable metrics, highlighting trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
  • Engage in continuous process improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the accounts receivable domain.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes affecting accounts receivable.
  • Contribute to special projects and perform additional duties as required, supporting the broader objectives of the accounting and finance team.


Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business administration


Work Experience

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in accounts receivable.
  • Supervisory or management experience, particularly in the accounting function
  • Work history that demonstrates stability, progressive responsibility, and willingness to accept new duties.


Capabilities and Skills

  • Strong proficiency in ERP systems and MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent time-management skills; ability to effectively plan and prioritize. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external parties, clearly and calmly. 
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices. 
  • Exceptional team player with strong communication and people skills


Other Requirements

  • This position is based in Philadelphia with options for remote work.
  • Ability to travel to Ethos operating states when necessary.
  • Must pass stringent background test requirements.
  • Minimum of 21 years of age
  • Possess valid driver's license or state ID card; authorized to work in the U.S


Compensation

  • This position offers annual salary compensation with additional incentive compensation based on performance.
  • This position is classified as Exempt and is not entitled to overtime pay.
