Accounting Intern

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems is seeking an Accounting Intern to join our St. Petersburg home office Accounting and Finance Team. In this role, you will gain valuable hands-on experience in corporate finance and accounting.

Responsibilities

• Assist with monthly and quarterly financial reporting.
• Perform analytical reviews of general ledger activity such as accruals and prepaids.
• Compile financial data for management reporting, and for periodic regulatory surveys.
• Assist with balance sheet account reconciliations, and resolving outstanding items.
• Assist with Sox compliance functions, and supporting audit requests.
• Assist with department document archiving.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in Accounting from an accredited college/university.
• Strong analytical and qualitative abilities.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work well with a diverse employee population are essential.
• Strong computer skills, and proficient in MS Office application are required.
• Must demonstrate organizational and prioritization skills, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, using discretion and independent judgement.
