Accountant/Principal Accountant

Irving, TX

This position will sit out of Irving, TX with the possibility of occasional telework. The Accountant/Principal Accountant will apply principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports. Maintains or oversees the control of accounts and records in such areas as disbursements, expenses, tax payments, and income. Compiles and analyzes financial information to record transactions, prepare reports, and review and verify accuracy. Prepares balance sheet and profit and loss statements, consolidated financial statements, and other accounting schedules and reports. May design, modify, install, and/or maintain accounting systems to ensure an adequate recognition of financial transactions. Responsible for the adherence to and communication of accounting and auditing policies and procedures.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Apply subject matter expertise and technical leadership for incoming and outgoing payement processes and transactions, and serve as key POC for sector customers.
  • Coordinate department requirements with Corporate Treasury, Enterprise Systems Group, and external banking provider on all relevant payments and/or banking matters
  • Monitor metrics and proactively identify and execute process improvements
  • Assist audit requests and walkthroughs.
  • Participation in the definition, implementation and optimization of automated systems and processes; and support for special projects, as required
  • Support monthly closing activities
  • Serve as point of contact for internal and external audits
  • Maintain and provide input for Metrics Profile, and ensure monthly metrics goals are met.

Basic Qualifications: Basic Qualifications for a Accountant (2) are:

  • 3 Years of relevant experience with Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or related field; 1 Year of relevant experience with Master’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or related field
  • Multi-tasking with strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and use sound judgment in resolving non-routine issues
  • Demonstrates the skill and ability to perform complex tasks, including detailed analyses, and develop solutions to complex problems, which require the regular use of ingenuity and innovation
  • Communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings
  • Interact effectively with all levels of employees and stakeholders to include managers within the finance, accounting, billings, treasury, and line organizations
  • Strong Microsoft Office suite skills, including Excel


Basic Qualifications for a Principal Accountant (3) are:

  • 6 Years of relevant experience with Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or related field; 4 Years of relevant experience with Master’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or related field
  • Multi-tasking with strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and use sound judgment in resolving non-routine issues
  • Demonstrates the skill and ability to perform complex tasks, including detailed analyses, and develop solutions to complex problems, which require the regular use of ingenuity and innovation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • SAP AP/AR experience a plus
  • Familiarity with GAAP, FAR, CAS, IFRS, and SOX
