Account Executive
The Woodlands, TX
This key position is a member of our Oil & Gas Solutions North American sales team covering the mid con territory. This role as sales Account Executive will be responsible for development of new business and managing a portfolio of existing business and customers. New business will be developed by analyzing account potential; initiating, developing, and closing sales; recommending new applications and sales strategies when appropriate and working closely with our manufacturing, supply chain and R&I teams to ensure the growth of the business.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure sales objectives are met, forecasted & aligned with overall strategy of the business
- Maintain appropriate frequency of customer contact, build and maintain strong customer relationships, 24/7 access as directed by industry, regular contact at all touch points (field/yard/technical/corporate)
- Maintain strong technical knowledge of commercial and new chemistries and technologies
- Increase overall competitive market knowledge
- Contribute information to business strategies by evaluating current product results; identifying needs; monitoring competitive products activities; analyzing and relaying customer reactions
- Plan, lead and close contract negotiations
- Manage customer complaints and ensure customer satisfaction
- Prepare and deliver effective sales and technical presentations
- Prepare account plans, call plans, call reports, correspondence
- Identify and develop new business opportunities with emphasis on maximizing profitability
- Ability to work closely with internal team, communicating at all levels or the organization thoroughly for success
- Participate and direct sales strategies for regional key accounts
- Manage credit management and cash collection issues
REQUIRED SKILLS / EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
- BS/BA preferred in an engineering or chemical related field, but not required; MBA a plus
- At least five (5) years’ experience working in the Oil & Gas industry
- At least 2 years’ experience in a sales role
- Application & technical knowledge of fracturing fluid additives, well cementing additives, oil well production chemical additives and systems
- Excellent communication skills, project coordination and team building skills
- Ability to easily manage Emails, Excel, PowerPoint, CRM tool in order to keep communication flowing
- Demonstrated ability to make decisions under minimum supervision; makes decisions of a complex nature within operating guidelines
- Ability to generate deep customer insights, to develop and manage an account plan & build/maintain customer relationships on multiple working levels (field/yard/technical/corporate office)
- Ability to detect and generate new sales opportunities
- Ability to build, negotiate and manage contracts with business partners
- Knowledge of negotiation concepts, techniques, and ability to apply them in order to obtain agreement between two or more parties who may have different interests
- Ability to identify and articulate the value associated with Solvay product offerings at a total market or industry perspective

- Travel required: 1 week per quarter for Sales Meeting (different locations) & 2-4 nights away from home for customer visits (Oklahoma mainly but also North Texas / Panhandle, Tx and Kansas)
